1. How can I apply for a membership?

 Click on the link:  to apply for membership. You will immediately receive a Transit address you can use to shop online retailers around the globe.

2. Can I start using Transit Address services immediately after I sign up?

Yes. Once you receive your membership confirmation, you are ready to start shopping! Transit Address will immediately begin accepting your merchandise .

Note: Please ensure all your shipments include the address of the Transit Address distribution center and your unique code number. Any packages shipped to Transit Address with an incomplete or inaccurate address will be delayed. Packages requiring review for incomplete or incorrect addresses will incur a Rs.350/- per package special handling fee.

I understand you will give me a US,UK and UAE address. Is it a P.O. box address? No. Transit Address provides you with a complete street address and unique code number, not a P.O. box.

3. How do I use my Transit Address?

Enter the address provided by Transit Address as the ‘Shipping Address’ as shown below, whenever you buy from US online stores.

4. How does my Transit Address online account work?

  • f. Note: You will receive an email notification when you receive a package, or when Transit Address ends a shipment to you

5. Do Transit Address shipping rates include customs fees, tariffs or taxes?

Published Transit Address shipping rates do not include any import fees or duty for shipments coming into your country. In some cases, couriers may also charge a brokerage fee for clearing your consignment through local customs. These fees vary and are not paid by Transit Address.

Note: Please contact your nearest customs office for more information on duties and import fees.

6. What is dimensional weight?

All international carriers base their shipping rates on the greater of actual weight and dimensional weight.

Actual weight is the weight of the package when put on a scale whereas dimensional weight is based on the size of the package. Large items that have a low actual weight relative to their size like pillows and lamp shades will have a larger dimensional weight. Some people refer to this as volumetric weight.

Dimensional weight is calculated by multiplying the dimensions of the item. The formula is:
Dimensional Weight (chargeable pounds)  = Length x Width x Height (centimeters) / 5000

7. When am I charged for shipping costs?

When your packet will reach at Indian port you will get information about shipping cost, custom duty , taxes and insurance.

8. Do you add fuel surcharge to your rates?

No. Despite the fuel surcharges added by all major carriers, Transit Address does not add a fuel surcharge at this time to provide the best possible value to our members.

9. Is my shipment insured?

Yes, it is mandatory to get your merchandise insured.

For damaged items:
If your merchant is ready to replace your damaged item, we’ll return it for free. You just need to provide us the scanned copy of communication with your merchant.

All claims: Your merchandise will be considered as lost if it is not traced for 25 days of its delivery to Transit Address warehouse. Transit Address’s claims for lost merchandise must be filed within the stipulated time frame. Claims are considered filed only if completed claim form, photographs and receipts are received by Transit Address. Each claim is reviewed individually and it takes a minimum of 8 weeks time. Specific commodities like television, computer, jewellery, figurine, furniture and electronics will have limits of liability in case of loss or damage regardless of Declared Value or Insurance paid. Claim liability is limited to either Declared Value, proof of purchase or Specific commodity liability limit or lesser. Claim liability for damage to items pre-packaged by manufacturer will be limited, including the commodity groups listed above.   

10. What does insurance cover?

Yes, it is mandatory to get your merchandise insured.

Insurance covers lost of the items in your shipment. Claims can be filed for the declared value plus international shipping costs, if applicable. Insurance does NOT cover import duties and taxes, domestic shipping costs or damage to the box/packaging. You will get insurance upto 80% of declared value after filing claim. Couriers may carry limited or no liability for antique or vintage items, jewelry, TVs, electronics and prohibited goods. Please check with your specific courier for a complete list of prohibited items by courier.  

11. Are there exceptions to export restrictions for laboratory, medical or research use?

No. Transit Address cannot export prescription medications, controlled substances or human growth hormones of any kind, for any reason.

Transit Address cannot export assays, peptides, biological media and animal, veterinary or human vaccines. If you receive a package containing these items, US regulations.require Transit Address to dispose of the items in a local disposal facility. Transit Address cannot ship these items to any address, including back to the sender.

12. Can you export agricultural Items like plants, seeds and soil?

No, Transit Address can not export agricultural items.

13. Can you export controlled substances?

No. Transit Address cannot export controlled substances or any item that contains controlled substances. Please do not ship controlled substances to your Transit Address warehouse.

A controlled substance is any drug that is illegal or restricted for sale in the India, even if it is readily available in your own country. Examples of controlled substances include Sudafed and Hoodia.

14. Can you export human growth hormones?

No. Transit Address cannot export human growth hormones (hGH) of any kind. Please do not ship human growth hormones to your Transit Address code. Common examples of human growth hormones include Norditropin, Nutropin, Omnitrope, Saizen and Genotropin. Supplements and vitamins legally purchased for bodybuilding purposes, include Creatine, are not considered human growth hormones.

15. Can you export lithium batteries?

No, lithium batteries are prohibited by Indian custom authorities.

Yes. However, lithium batteries may be subject to additional regulations, and we may be unable to export them to certain countries. In some cases, lithium metal and lithium-ion batteries may be subject to a Dangerous Goods handling fee.

Due to the potential fire danger, lithium ion and lithium metal batteries are heavily regulated for air transport. The regulations are extremely complex and can vary by country, and even by courier. The size of the battery, how it is packaged, and if it is pre-installed in an electronic device also play a role in the regulations and restrictions

16. Can you export motorized vehicles?

No. Transit Address cannot export any motorized vehicle that requires a license to operate. Common examples include cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Can you import prescribed non-prescribed or over-the-counter medications? No, Transit Address can not import prescribed non-prescribed or over-the-counter medications

17.Can you import police or military style items?

No. Transit Address will not export any product that appears to be related to police, government or military activity. Common items include, but are not limited to:

  • .Badges
  • .Body armor
  • .Protective clothing containing body armor
  • .Police batons
  • .Handcuffs
  • .Surveillance equipment

18. Can you export weapons or gun accessories?

No. Transit Address will not export any product that appears to be a weapon, weapon part or accessory to a weapon. This includes, but is not limited to, items restricted by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Common gun and weapon accessories include, but are not limited to:

Scopes or sights

  • .Ammunition clips or magazines
  • .Pistol grips
  • .Rifle butt stocks
  • .Items equipped with night-vision
  • .Bayonets
  • .Items equipped with lasers

19. Does Transit Address export food?

Transit Address cannot export any food items that are perishable (require refrigeration), labeled in a foreign language, or restricted for export by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). We also suggest that you contact your local customs office to inquire if food can be imported to your country, as it is often restricted.

All food packaging must include the following:

  • .Name of the product
  • .Ingredient list in English
  • .Nutrition facts in English

If the food product arrives with a merchant invoice, we will attempt to locate the required information to meet US FDA regulations for export. If the required information is not available, Transit Address will not be able to export it, and in some cases, we may not be able to ship it domestically.

20. What is the difference between restricted and prohibited items?

Items can be shipped Prohibited Items: If an item is prohibited in India or for export from the country you are shopping, we cannot ship it to you. If you are not sure if an item is prohibited, please contact us before ordering. If we receive an item we cannot ship to you, Transit Address may be unable to ship it to any address, including back to the sender. In some cases, we may be required to dispose of it in a US disposal facility.

Restricted Items: Some restricted, but only after the Transit Address compliance team reviews the item to ensure it complies with both Indian laws in and laws in a country from which you are purchasing your product. The compliance review usually takes less than 24 hours, but it may take one to three business days before your package is available to ship. If you have questions about shipping a restricted item, please contact us before shipping the item to your Transit Address .

21.What is considered dangerous goods or hazardous material?

Dangerous goods/hazardous materials are items that require special handling, additional packaging and labeling to be transported internationally.

These items may or may not be allowed to ship to India.

Items considered to be dangerous goods include: flammable items or items under pressure. Dangerous goods items may be required to ship separately from non-dangerous goods items.

22.Can you export perfume?

We are allowed to export perfume to certain countries, with a special handling fee Rs. 500/-  Perfumes may be required to ship separately from other items.

23.What currency are your fees displayed in?

All Transit Address pricing is displayed in Indian Rupees .

24.Do you charge a fee if my address is incorrect?

Yes. Incorrectly addressed packages or those missing vital information require manual research, and we must charge a fee to cover these costs.

Incoming Packages:
There is a Rs. 350/- fee for packages that arrive at our distribution center with an incomplete address. You can avoid these fees by making sure the merchant properly addresses your order. Read more on how to correctly enter your address here.

Outgoing Packages:
The courier will charge a Rs. 1000/- fee to your Transit Address account if you update your address after the shipment has left our facility. We add extra charges at the time of delivery.

25.Will you open my packages?

No, we will not open your packet . But we check your invoice

26.Does Transit Address provide refrigeration?

No. Neither Transit Address, nor our couriers, provide any form of temperature-controlled storage or transportation. Please do not ship items requiring refrigeration to your Transit Address.
Common items that require refrigeration include frozen foods, perishable foodstuffs, temperature-sensitive medications, dry ice and chocolate.

27.Does Transit Address provide temperature-controlled facilities?

No. Transit Address does not provide temperature-controlled or humidity-controlled facilities.

28.How long does it take to process my shipment?

6-7 working days, after we received it at our warehouse subject to clearance.

29.Why is my package not showing in my account?

Transit Address receives packages Monday through Saturday. Our receiving team works diligently to ensure packages are entered into your account within 24 hours of arrival at our facility. You will receive an email each time we log a package into your account.

30.Will you accept shipments sent to me by merchants and individual sellers?

We will accept shipments to your Transit Address only from online seller

31.How can I make sure I get all my package notifications?

Spam filters sometimes include mail you do want to receive. To ensure you receive all your account communications, we recommend that you add Transit Address to your Safe Senders list.
Transit Address sends email alerts to you when we receive a package at your Transit Address , when your shipments leave our facility, and other important notifications.

32.How do I save money when shopping US stores?

To save the most at USA stores, follow these tips:

  • .Always use your Transit Address suite address as the "Ship To" address. Many merchants offer free shipping to US addresses.
  • .Check to see if coupons or discount codes are available.
  • .Be sure to read the ratings and reviews of sellers.
  • .Be prepared to spend more than a few minutes on these sites looking for the best products and deals.
  • .There are typically multiple ways to get to a product; by category, price, features, etc.
  • .Consider rebates; sometimes manufacturers offer rebates after the product is purchased.
  • .If you are unsure about a seller or retailer, check with the Better Business Bureau.
  • .Shop around! Check different websites for the same product.
  • .Create a separate email address for shopping, so your email doesn't get bogged down with advertisements.

33.Can I buy items from retailers that are not listed on your shopping page?

34.Can I start using Transit Address services right away?

Yes, you can start using Transit Address by registering with us.
